ABOUT ME
My name is Alexandra and I am so pleased to introduce you to my world of Dancecouture Strauss.
I am a professional tailor of women's clothing, with a passion for dancewear. I design and manufacture fashionable dance clothing to my client's specific requirements and measurements.
MY GOAL
For me it is always amazing to see how much a dancer can benefit from wearing perfectly fitting clothes. And it is not only about wearing a great costume on stage, it is even more about wearing everyday clothes for rehearsal, feeling comfortable and fabulous in it!
Every dancer and each body is different and my goal is to support you in the best possible way.
CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABILITY
All Dancecouture Strauss pieces are not only characterized by a perfect fit, they are also manufactured sustainably. Based in the beautiful city of Salzburg, I sew all articles here and only use high quality materials such as fabrics made in Italy which are OEKO-TEX certified and elastics made in Austria. This also ensures short transportation distances for all of my materials.
MY JOURNEY
After I finished my education as a tailor for women's clothing, I started working in theatres where I fell in love with sewing for ballet. Ballet dancers are athletes performing on stage and because of that a costume and also a rehearsal outfit for a ballet dancer is not only something to wear, it should be more like activewear which supports the dancer in the best possible way.
A dream came true in november 2021 when I got the chance to attend a tutu seminar from "Tutus That Dance" in Great Britain, where I learned how to make structured tutus. Half a year later I went back for my second seminar, how to create stretch tutus.
